Unlike in imperial times, you can enter the staterooms of the Vestibül in Vienna's Burgtheater completely relaxed because today’s hosts extend a warm welcome to everyone.
This was not always the case; in the 19th century, everyone stood still and held their breath when Emperor Franz Josef and Empress Elisabeth entered these magnificent rooms, which they used as a private entrance area for their visits to the theatre. At the Vestibül Restaurant, you dine, and this is unique, in the emperor's private carriage entrance.
The restaurant is an Austrian family business that attracts both theatre audiences and national and international gourmets. In the Vestibül, traditional Austrian cuisine is interpreted innovatively and coherently in an exciting cross-over. These creations lead to extraordinary taste experiences off the beaten track.
